The design goal is to revitalize the hotel making it again the favorite gathering place for locals as well as a favorite of the business traveler. The hotel also serves as a gateway to the revitalized Condado area of San Juan. The design creates a "city resort" destination, bringing back the glamour once associated with the hotel, an is intended to improve pedestrian and automobile access, upgrade interior public and meeting spaces,. The guestroom were also completely refurbished with a contemporary yet elegant design.
